Bio: Dr. Jianlin Guo received the B.S. degree in mathematics from Central South University, China, in January 1982, the M.S. degree in applied mathematics from Hunan University, China, in January 1986 and the Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from University of Windsor, Canada, in August 1995. He is currently the Senior Principal Research Scientist with Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. He is an IEEE Senior Member and the IEEE 802.19.3 Task Group Technical Editor. His research interests include wireless coexistence, IoT networks, machine learning, vehicular networks, edge computing, industrial automation, control systems, wireless communications and fluid mechanics. He was appointed as the teaching assistant in the Guilin University of Technology, China, from January 1982 to August 1983 and appointed as the lecturer in the Hunan Normal University from January 1986 to April 1991. He worked as the software developer in Maplesoft, Canada, from September 1995 to July 1998 and joined the MERL in August 1998, where he has published forty two journal and conference papers, invented thirty three patents and hosted more than twenty Ph.D. interns from universities in USA and Australia. He received five awards from research community for his outstanding research in wireless coexistence and vehicular communications networks. He also received an award from IEEE Standards Association for his significant contributions to IEEE standardizations.
